Zoom Player is a robust media and DVD front-end player. It was designedto be simple at first glance while being remarkably dynamic andflexible when used to its full potential. It works in two modes: aMedia mode which can play any file supported by DirectShow (any filewhich plays in MediaPlayer) and a DVD mode which uses pre-installedDirectShow DVD filters to play DVD content. It supersedes media playerin all it’s functions and provides several important functions thatmedia player lacks. It provides special zooming functions to improveTV-output quality by eliminating overscan. This Pro version includesDVD Front-End Capabilities and requires registration.
Zoom Player is capable of playing all common media formats and quite a few of the not so common, including:
AVI, Matroska (MKV), QuickTime (MOV), Cellphone 3GPP (3GP), Flash(SWF), RealMedia (RA/RM/RMVB/RAM), Windows Media Format (ASF/WMV/WMAincluding DRM with WMV Professional version), OGG Movie (OGM), MPEG1(MPG/VCD), MPEG2 (MPG/SVCD/VOB), MPEG4 (DIVX/XVID/ISO), VP3-VP6, MPEGLayer 3 (MP3), Vorbis Audio (OGG), Dolby Digital (AC3), Advanced AudioCoding (AAC), MusePack Audio (MPC), FLAC Audio (FLAC), OptimFROG Audio,Monkey Audio (APE), Wave Audio (WAV), CD-Audio.
Zoom Player WMV Professional allows you to play Windows Media VideoDigital Rights Management files (Copy protected WMV files).
Changes in Zoom Player 5.00 Final:
* New Setting (Advanced Options / Interface / OSD / Fullscreen Navigation), allowing you show hidden files (default off).
* New Setting (Advanced Options / Control Bar) allowing the Control Barto hide automatically if the mouse cursor is moved a certain distanceaway from the control bar (50 pixels).
* New Mouse Left-Click setting to only move the user interface window(without the ability to move the video while in fullscreen).
* New "/MEDIACAT:category name" command line parameter allowing you toopen the media library navigator within the category selection screenwhen Zoom Player starts. Using "/MEDIACAT" alone will open the categorylist in the previously saved position, while specifying a category namewould highlight a specific category, for example "/MEDIACAT:Music"would highlight the Music category.
* New CommAPI message (1950) allowing you to remove items from the Playlist.
+ Clicking on the left/right sides of the navigation interfaces is nolonger restricted to 1 pixel, but rather 1 percent of the interfacewidth.
- The "/MEDIANAV:category name" command line parameter was not functioning correctly.
- Under certain conditions the internal image viewer would not position the image correctly.
- Executing external applications on Windows 95/98 could cause a crash. This also affected the install center.
- Fixed small glitches with the skin.
- Made a few text instances clearer.
- Few more small bug fixes.
